Students of all skill level and ages welcomed

Here is a great project put together by my former student John Patti. I taught John when he was a student at Centennial High School near by in Ellicott City. John always had an interest and knack for playing steel drums. Now he is one of the most in demand steel drummers. John resides in South Florida these days. Enjoy all of this talent in his video. I will admit that I didn’t teach him steel drums.

Morton credits Grant Menefee, a Catonsville-based music teacher, as one of the first people to give him the tools to “make a go of” a career in music.
Menefee recalls Morton as a natural drummer and quick learner.

“He was soaking it up like a sponge,” Menefee said. “He really enjoyed playing music, and really worked hard. He enjoyed it to the point that I thought this is what’s going to make him happy.”
